Avon Blog - Sell More Avon Online

Interested in creating a blog to drive more traffic to your Avon website and Sell More Avon Online but not sure where to start? This article will cover some of the basics of how to create a blog for your Avon business. So what is a blog? According to Wikipedia, a blog is “A Web site on which an individual or group of users record opinions, information, etc. on a regular basis.”

How can a Blog Help you Sell More Avon Online?

Avon provides every representative in the United States with their own personal website. The website provided to us is what some would call a “cookie cutter” website meaning all websites look identical. So here’s my question to you: how are potential customers going to find you in search engines like Google and Yahoo if your Avon website is the same as so many other websites? In 2011, there were 420,000 active Avon Representatives in North America. (Source: http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/03/16/us-avon-idUSBRE82F0VN20120316) Customizing your website will help you differentiate yourself from those hundreds of thousands of other Avon Representatives and help your website become easier to find for potential Avon eCustomers so you can Sell Avon Online and help others Sign up to Sell Avon Online.

Building a blog is one way to customize your Avon website. By writing blog posts on your Avon website, you are building links to your Avon website which will be indexed by search engines. What does that mean? Customers who are searching for the topic you are writing about will go to your website and hopefully make a purchase from your Online Avon Store.

How to Sell Avon Online Successfully – Basics of Writing a Blog

  • Pick a Topic – Don’t let writer’s block get the best of you. With Avon, there is always news to share whether it be a product launch, new sales, or the start of the next campaign. This is good news for us bloggers because we will never run out of writing material. What is the purpose of your blog post? Decide if you are trying to Sell More Avon Online or you want to recruit new team members. Then pick a topic on a product, a sale, or recruiting.
  • Do your Research – Once you decide what you want to write about, find out how customers are searching for your topic. I like to use the free Google Keyword Tool or WordTracker. Type in your keyword to see how many people are searching and how they are searching for your topic. Another way to find out how people are searching for your topic is to do the search yourself on Google on your topic. At the bottom of the first page of results, there will be links listed under “Searches Related to…” Pick 1 – 3 keywords related to your topic to use in your post.
  • Blogging on yourAvon.com – If you haven’t started your blog yet on your Avon website, there’s no better time than now. Once you are logged in, go to your Web Office. Under the eStore tab on the far right – choose Blog Manager – then New Post and you are ready to start writing your Avon blog. Even though the Avon blog is somewhat limited in functionality, it is where your online customers will be able to shop so it’s a good idea to keep fresh content on there. In my opinion, the more clicks your customer has to make to buy Avon onlinethe more likely they may change their minds and not make a purchase. If you decide to create a blog outside of your Avon website, I would also try to create posts on your Avon blog.
  • Be Informative – When creating blog posts, provide facts and useful information rather than just your opinion or a sales pitch. Try to repeat your keyword(s) at least 3 times throughout the article but make sure your sentences are natural to read for readers and not just created for search engine optimization.
  • Share on Social Media – Be sure to get in the habit of sharing your blog post URL on all of your social media profiles after you have published it. The whole purpose of creating the blog is to get more traffic to your website to Sell Avon Products Online and get others to Sign up for Avon Online so be proud of your work and share it with the online world!

Avon Tips for Representatives

Makeup Marketing Online

This article highlights a few of my best Avon selling tips for Avon Representatives to sell more Avon online. The problem with online advertising and other forms of advertising is it’s hard to measure where the sale came from unless you are using some sort of promotion code or coupon to be able to track it. When I first started promoting my Avon website in 2008, I was only getting one or maybe a few online orders a month. Now I get about 30 online orders a month and I believe it will continue to grow but it has taken A LOT of hard work and time. For the 2012-2013 sales cycle, I reached President’s Club based on online Avon sales only. It seems the blog posts and hours spent on social media marketing bring in more sales than any paid advertising, which is good and bad because it saves money but takes up more of my time.

Avon Selling Tips to Increase Online Sales

Avon Selling Tips

The biggest jump in my online Avon sales was in 2012 and what I did differently was posted blog posts a few times a month and really started utilizing social media to promote my Avon website. Here are my best online Avon selling tips and what has seemed to work well for me:

1) Put a label on the front of your Avon catalog with your name, phone number, website address, and a Avon coupon code offer. The Avon coupon codes: WELCOME and THANKYOU20 both work one-time per customer for 20% off an online order of $50 or more so I always use that one. I also only put the 2 week time frame for my customers to order so they feel a sense of urgency and will want to order out of the next campaign too.

2) Every time a new Avon campaign starts, I create a new photo album on my Avon Facebook page. I add photos of the Avon catalog, new products, and the sales I like best for the campaign. The posts when I create an album for a new Avon campaign definitely get the most engaged viewers. It also makes it easy for me to come up with what to post during those two weeks. I just share one of the photos from that album and comment on it. I always include my website url when I create social media posts so viewers can go directly there to buy Avon online if they choose.

3) I try to post at least once a day to each social media site marketing my Avon business: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Google Plus. Lately I have noticed my Pinterest boards are starting to rank well on Google. I can’t say I’ve seen any of my posts from any of the other social media sites lately in Google’s top 10 but the Pinterest boards are starting to show up on the front page for the keywords I’m targeting. According to www.mediabistro.com, 97% of Pinterest’s Facebook fans are women and Pinterest drives more referral traffic than Google Plus, LinkedIn, and YouTube combined. See an example of my Pinterest page here: http://pinterest.com/avonrep2

4) One last piece of advice for selling Avon online: when you start getting online Avon orders, be sure to thank your new customers! I have started sending my online customers a new Avon catalog if they place an order with me. If one of my e-customers places an online order in January, they will get the two campaign catalogs for February. There are two great companies owned by Avon Representatives that will mail your catalogs for you at a fair price: Campaign Mailer or Consultant Depot.

Avon Tips for Representatives

Makeup Marketing Online

As an Avon Representative, are you using Facebook to sell Avon onlineWith 1.11 billion monthly active users on Facebook, you should definitely have a presence for your Avon business if you are serious about selling Avon online (Source: http://www.activecommunities.com/blog/top-10-social-media-stats-to-watch-2013/). Building an online customer base is a time consuming process and Social Media marketing is only a piece of the puzzle so don’t expect to start seeing immediate results but over time, it definitely pays off.

Sell Avon Online Using Facebook – Marketing your Avon Business

  • Sell Avon Online Using FacebookAdvertise your Facebook Page to Local Users – We’ve all heard the saying “you have to spend money to make money.” One idea on where to spend your marketing budget to gain more Avon customers is to advertise your page to get local Facebook users to become fans. You can advertise your page for as little as $1.00 / day on Facebook. After all, what good are your posts if no one is seeing them? One benefit of creating a Facebook ad is you can target demographically (ex: only females ages 18 – 65) and geographically (ex: within 25 miles of your hometown). For instructions setting up an advertisement for your Avon Facebook page, click on the gear on your Facebook profile – select Help – type in “Create an Ad” in the query box for detailed instructions.
  • Create a Facebook Page – One of the biggest advantages of creating a Facebook Fan Page vs. marketing your Avon business on your personal profile is you can attract an audience interested in hearing about your Avon offers. The last thing you want to do is scare off your friends and family by talking about Avon all of the time on your personal page. Other advantages to having a Facebook Fan Page include: monitoring the success of your posts with Facebook statistics, scheduling automated posts, and using Facebook apps to add other cool features to your page. For instructions on setting up your Avon Facebook page, click on the gear on your Facebook profile – select Help – type in “Create a Page” in the query box for detailed instructions.
  • Engage your Audience – Use pictures and links to engage your Avon Facebook fans. When a new campaign starts, I like to create a photo album with my favorite deals from that specific campaign. I include pictures of the Avon catalog and all of the valid flyers, the new products being introduced, and my favorite sales from that campaign. Not only does this create excitement for your Avon customers to see the latest and greatest Avon products / sales, but it also gives you ideas on what to share on your Facebook page during that campaign time frame. To save the photos from the current campaign, go to your personal Avon website – click on “Shop my eBrochure” – find the page you want to save to your photo album – right click and select “Save Image As.” Then on your Facebook page, click on Photos – then Albums – Create New Album. Throughout the campaign, share different photos from that album to notify your customers of sales and new products. Another Facebook tip to sell Avon online is to always include your website when you post. Remember to include http:// or www. in front of your website address so your fans can click directly through to your website. Also, be sure to post when Avon offers free shipping. No one likes to spend money on shipping so to stay updated on free shipping offers: turn on your automated emails in your web office – sign up for your own email subscription – then post when Avon offers free shipping deals. When posting these offers, include a picture of the offer, describe the offer (ex: Free shipping on any Avon order), mention the coupon code, when the offer expires, and of course your web address where they can place their online Avon order.
  • Automate your Posts – Did you know you can schedule your Facebook posts? We all know most of us Avon ladies are busy and posting on Facebook may not be our first priority. To ensure you are consistent with your Facebook posts, set up automated posts. When typing in your status, you’ll notice a little clock icon at the bottom left corner of the box. Click on that clock – enter the year, month, day, and time you’d like your status to post – click “Schedule” and voila, your post will appear when you want it to even if you’re not on Facebook. Just be sure to check your page often in case one of your fans has questions or makes a comment which requires a response. You can also include photos in automated posts. Select “Photo / Video” in the status box – then “Upload Photos / Video” – you’ll then see the same clock icon appear in order to schedule your post with a picture or video clip.
  • Measure your Activity – Every good marketer knows measuring what works and what doesn’t is all part of the game in finding your best marketing techniques. When you have an Avon Facebook page as opposed to a personal profile, you have the advantage of seeing your page insights including: how many people see your post (Reach), the number of people who have clicked on your post (Engaged Users), how many people liked, commented on, or shared your post (Talking About This), and the percentage of people who created a story from your post out of those who saw your post (Virality). Each statistic gives you an idea of which posts your fans like and which aren’t so popular. You can click on each of these columns to sort by largest to smallest or vice versa to find out what works and what doesn’t. You can also click on the number of engaged users to see if you had any negative feedback. Negative feedback means someone hid your post. The more people you reach, the more likely you will have negative feedback so I wouldn’t pay too much attention to this number. However, if a certain type of post gets more negative feedback than normal, you may want to reconsider posting any similar types of posts in the future. Most importantly, use the statistics to see which types of posts your fans like the best, what times of day are most popular, and how frequently you should post. Sell Avon Successfully
